Hobbies / Activities
Living in Hawaii opened up lots of opportunities for outdoor activiy during the four years we lived there. After my first triathlon in April 2006 (actually a duathlon – the swim part was canceled due to the bacteria in the water from sewage overflow - yum!), I successfully completeed the Tinman Triathlon in July 2007. I also completed the Waimea Bay portion of the North Shore Swim Series, and half of the Honolulu Century Ride while I was there. There hasn't been much opportunity to swim in Kyoto, but I've been bicycling quite a bit, and have even found some excellent bike paths.

Korean noodles
I also love food and cooking. I've tried to take advantage of my international travels to get to know as many different flavors as possible. My favorites: Vietnamese, Ethiopian, and Mexican cooking!
Finally, I love to read, of course. While I’m not much for modern fiction (and by modern I mean anything after 1850 – hey, I’m a Classics major!), I’ve really gotten into non-fiction and have a sizeable stockpile saved up in my LibraryThing account. If anyone wants to recommend anything, by all means email me – I love to know how things work and will read any good book about that.
To the Horizon and Beyond
Where will I go and what will I do? Who knows what opportunities may arise, what doors may open or shut. I do know that I have the confidence to learn anything and begin any project, and I'll be working hard to meet all my goals. I’ll soon be job hunting, so I guess that's first! Until next time, ciao adieu mata ne!
