In this section I describe in more detail some of my activities over the past few years. Some of these projects are for credit (like the two internships) and some are extracurricular, but I thought they all deserved more attention.

This is my "Miss April" page from the 2007 ALA-SC fundraiser in which LIS students starred in our own calendar! More info at the ALA-SC site. Yes, that's The Waste Land in my hand.

Web Team
The LIS Web Team is a group of LIS student volunteers who have web-related skills and interests. The Web Team is responsible for updating the LIS Program Website, and we also offer several educational sessions for LIS students and faculty as well as UH Manoa Library staff and faculty. I have been a member of the team since Fall 2005 and Leader of the team since Spring 2006. This section describes in more detail the activities we have done in the past few years.

Kapi'olani Community College Internship (KCC Web)
In the Spring of 2006 I began my Electronic Resources internship with Steph Nelson at Kapi'olani Community College. I learned a lot about that particular job from her, including how to manage electronic resources, the IntraSystem Loan process, the promotion process, and more - but the main project we focused on was the redesign of the KCC Library web page. Over the spring, summer, and fall of 2006 I worked with Steph from step one to redesign the entire site. This section gives more explanation of that process and more.

Hui Dui
Hui Dui is the group which represents the student body of the LIS Program, plans various activities on behalf of the students, and organizes classroom resources. I joined Hui Dui as Vice President for the Summer and Fall of 2006, and was later elected President for the Spring 2007 semester. In this page I outline the activities of Hui Dui and my contributions to that wonderful group.

Asia Collection Internship
In the Fall of 2005 I was one of two Asia Collection Interns, working on the 4th floor of Hamilton Library on the UH Manoa Campus. As part of this project I spent time at the Asia Reference Desk every week, as well as worked on several independent projects including creating a web page and creating a display. This section highlights that work and gives my impressions of my first experience working in a library.
